A poem by Eric Landron  inspired by Julia de Burgos and my painting “Punto de Vista”

You’re not Julia de Burgos…

You’re not Julia,

But you are the other Julia, voracious

And eternally throbbing,

Rustling

In wanderings and in outdoor horizons,

That names as your captain,

Your untamed

And navigating woman’s heart,

You’re not Julia,

But you are the other Julia that loves, loves, and loves,

In the flesh, in excitement, and in hypnosis,

Willing to the uncertain caress,

To an intense surrender,

And to daybreak fervor.

You’re not Julia,

But you are the other Julia

That struggles with life,

That binds to life,

That loams to life,

That is destined to life.

That carries an endless Poem

In the waves of her gaze,

And written with insomnia and in shadows

But guarded in the vast randomness

Of the memory of an intravenous river,

That nurtures as a serum

The blood of the sea.

You’re not Julia,

But you are the other Julia,

Yours and the incarnate…
